Terms of use
These terms apply when you use the Celebrance website. By using it, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Our service today
Celebrance helps couples and families in Ontario find a ceremony officiant or celebrant. During this first phase, the site offers information and a request form. Online booking and payment are not open yet.
Requests are not bookings
Sending a request does not reserve an officiant or a date. A ceremony is confirmed only when we confirm it to you in writing, with its date, place and price. Specific terms, including cancellation and our replacement guarantee, will be given to you at that point and will apply to that ceremony.
Officiants
Officiants and celebrants are independent professionals who work with Celebrance in their region. They are not our employees. In Ontario, only a person authorized under the Marriage Act can solemnize a marriage: we only propose authorized officiants for legal weddings.
Prices
Prices shown on the site are set by Celebrance for each region and ceremony type. They can change until a ceremony is confirmed. The price in your written confirmation is the one that applies.
Information on the site
Our guides and local pages give general information based on official sources, reviewed as described in our editorial policy. They are not legal advice. Rules, fees and office hours can change: check with the issuing office before you travel or apply.
Using the site
Please do not send false or abusive requests, impersonate someone else, or try to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the site. We may block requests that break these rules.
Our content
The texts, design and brand of Celebrance belong to us. You are welcome to quote short passages with a link to the page they come from.
Liability
We take care to keep the site accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, Celebrance is not responsible for indirect losses resulting from the use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
