Where do you get a marriage licence in Collingwood?

Collingwood issues marriage licences at the Town Hall Clerk's Department, 97 Hurontario Street, by appointment only (no walk-ins). You send the signed application to the Clerk by email or bring it in person, and the Clerk's Department then schedules your appointment. The Town is also listed by the Province as a pick-up location for the online ServiceOntario application.

The fee depends on where you live: $165 for Collingwood residents and $205 for non-residents, payable by cash, debit, credit card or cheque at pick-up. Many couples who marry here come from Toronto or elsewhere, so plan on the non-resident fee. The licence is valid for 3 months from the day it is issued.

Can you get married at Collingwood Town Hall?

Yes, in Council Chambers every Friday at 2 p.m., for $310 per ceremony (2026 rate), plus an optional $75 rehearsal. The room seats 46 guests, photographers and your own music are welcome, and you must book at least two weeks ahead. But note: all 2026 civil ceremonies are already booked, and the Town is now taking 2027 dates.

A Blue Mountains weekend, with your own officiant

Collingwood weddings often happen on a Saturday, at a Georgian Bay venue, a golf club, a ski resort or a private chalet, which the Friday Town Hall slot can't serve. A private officiant comes to your venue on the day you choose and writes the ceremony with you. With Celebrance, the price is shown upfront, all-in, and if your officiant can't make it, we send a replacement at no cost.

Collingwood and The Blue Mountains form one zone for us, so the same local officiants cover both.

How far ahead should you plan?

With Town Hall full for 2026, book your officiant as soon as your date is set, especially for summer and fall weekends. Then book your licence appointment within the 3 months before the wedding. Our marriage licence planner gives you the exact dates.

Information checked on September 24, 2026 against the Town of Collingwood's official page. Fees and availability change: confirm with the Clerk before your appointment.
